Retrospective and exhibition: Guilty of romantic love
To mark the closing of the project Málaga Red Shoes, La Casa Amarilla hosts a retrospective of events and workshops that have been part of the artistic project and have led to the performative artistic intervention that took place in the Plaza de la Constitution June 12.
As part of this event, it will be held an exhibition of film posters by artists tapped to complement the exhibition sense of it. Through them, we intend to address the issue of romantic love and its many myths that are responsible for that belief and idealized images whose result is the cause of an unhealthy relationship and therefore can lead to domestic violence develop. This type of unhealthy relationships make permissible attitudes and abusive and offensive behavior. Everything that weaves this call romantic love are common elements that we find every day, but perhaps the channel that grips us in a much more significant from an early age is the world of cinema.
Since children have invaded us with all kinds of sexist films; Princesses for girls and cars, robots and gunmen for children. And all this continues during adolescence movies where we see how the girls appear helpless and overshadowed by the strength and masculine power. That is, they are promulgated statements in which man has a leading role while the woman remains in a secondary role. The intention is to destroy everything that surrounds this romantic love through an exhibition where it breaks with the concept of romantic love and new statements in which there is neither idealized nor myths about love and relationships are created.
