Graduated in the Academy of Fine Arts, she lives and works in the city of Bologna (Italy). After attending the art courses of the “Dams”, she followed a photography course by Maestro Franco Fontana. Later she dedicated herself to the study of the fresco technique that will have so much influence in her artistic career. The material bases, the discolored dyes, the underground signs, the forgotten alphabets and the prehistoric symbols are, in fact, the center of her work. From the old manuscripts to metropolitan printmakers, hers is a work that is inspired by the old but lives in the contemporary, celebrating the poetics of the traces.
In recent years her research moves mainly around photography revisited and reinterpreted through contemporaneous materials such as Plexiglas, and considered as an extension of the possibility of “seeing beyond”.
Maddalena presented her works in many contemporary art fairs around the world (Shanghai, Seull, Miami, Paris, St. Petersburg), exhibiting in addition in the Provincial Museum of Fine Arts of La Platas, Buenos Aires, and in historical places and art galleries Contemporary art exhibitions in Italy such as the Art Gallery of Gaeta – Torino. It was also selected for the 6th edition of Jinan International Photography Biennial Exhibition in China.
